Bridgestone to get Approval for A340-500/-600

for A340-500/-600.

A340-600

Tokyo (July 7, 2006)--Bridgestone Corporation obtained the final approval for A340-500/-600 main tires from Airbus on July 4, 2006. At the same time, EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency) approved the modification to certify Bridgestone tire Part No. APR06912 for A340-500/-600 main and center landing gear. The tire has been certified as fully mixable with other qualified part numbers.

Bridgestone has already been supplying Airbus with its original equipment tires for this model in addition to other ones in accordance with the specifications indicated by airlines in ordering aircraft. The tire is of course available for replacement tires for this model as well.

The tire is the Bridgestone's first radial tire to which its new technology is applied, that is "Revolutionarily Reinforced Radial". On A380 which Airbus is developing, same tire is installed for its main landing gear.

In addition, Bridgestone nose tire Part No. APR06800 is also already available both for original equipment and replacement tires for this model.
