Started mass production of aircraft tires at Kurume plant.
1943
The manufacture of aircraft wheels started.
1953
Started manufacturing tires for civil aircrafts, and retreading aircraft tires.
1955
Developed "nylon reinforced tires" for civil jet fleets.
1958
Launched "high tensile machine" at Kurume plant for up-scaled manufacturing of "nylon reinforced tires".
1959
Obtained Civil Aviation Bureau (CAB) certification for 11 types of tires and tubes for Douglas DC-3 and else.
1968
Started world's largest dynamic-tester for aircraft tires at Kurume plant.
1969
Obtained Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification for 22 types of tires for DC-8 and else.
1970
Relocated aircraft tire retreading facility from Kurume to Tokyo plant.
1971
Obtained FAA certification for 13 tire types.
1973
Obtained Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) plant-approval.
Started tire supply to foreign airlines. Obtained CAB certificate for new and retread tires for DC-9-40, L1011 and DC-10-10.
Won 100% share for Airbus fleets at Japanese airlines.
1982
Obtained CAB, FAA, CAA and Boeing certificates for B767/757 tires
1983
Obtained FAA repair station approval.
1984
Changed corporate identity at Bridgestone group.
Established an incorporated company "Thompson Aircraft Tires (Asia) TATA" as 10% shareholder.
1985
Launched the world newest and largest dynamic-tester; max load is 110k LBS.
1987
Established an aircraft tire technical-service office in San Francisco, USA.
1988
Obtained CAB, FAA, CAA and Boeing certificate for B747-400 tires.
Developed "IBT (improved bias tire)" by applying "TCOT". Developed radial tire for A320.
Merged domestic and oversea sales functions for aircraft tires.
1989
Obtained CAB and FAA certificate for A320 radial tires.
1990
Started manufacturing the largest bias tire for MD-11 MLG.
1991
Shipped the first batch of A320 radial tire.
Acquired Thompson's whole European operation and 50% of equity in Asian operation.
Selected as OE supplier by DAC for MD-90-30.
Renamed "TATA" as "Bridgestone Aircraft Tire Company (Asia) Ltd" (BAA).
1992
Started radial tire retreading at the Tokyo plant.
Obtained DAC certificate for MD-90 MLG tire.
1993
Certified by Boeing as "first supplier" for the B777 radial tire.
Obtained Airbus certification for A320 radial tire.
Inaugurated "PWO" new generation super-light bias tires for A330/A340, A321, MD-90 and MD-11.
JAL and ANA selected Bridgestone as B777 tire supplier.
1994
Started radial tire retreading services in Europe, and Hong Kong.
1995
Obtained Airbus certificate for A330/A340 radial tires.
1996
Awarded OE supplier for B737-600/700/800 tires.
1997
Acquired Thompson Aerospace USA.
Awarded by Boeing OE supplier for B777-200LR/300ER and B767-400ER through 2006.
Started global QA program for aircraft tire retreading.
1998
Renamed "European Thompson Belgium" as "Bridgestone Aircraft Tire (Europe) S.A.".
1999
Started radial tire retreading services in the U.S.A.
2000
Acquired 100% equity of BAA.
2003
Awarded OE supplier for B737-600/700/800 tires.
Awarded OE supplier for A320Family/A330/A340/A380
2004
Awarded OE supplier for B787 tires.
Started development of "Revolutionarily Reinforced Radial (RRR)" structure.
2005
Awarded OE supplier for B737-900ER tires.
Certified for JISQ9100 Aerospace Quality and Safety Management.
Kurume plant obtained EASA certificate of manufacturing organization.
Obtained JCAB, FAA, EASA certificate with the RRR for A380 and A340.
Established Bridgestone Aircraft Tire (China) the forth aircraft tire retreading plant, in Qingdao China, as a BAA subsidiary.
2006
Started project to implement aircraft tire manufacturing line at Tokyo plant.
2007
Bridgestone Aircraft Tires Company (China) started bias tire retreading.
2008
Tokyo plant obtained EASA certificate of manufacturing organization, and started production of radial tires.
ANA accepted supply of the RRR tires for 777-300ER.
2009
Airbus accepted supply of the RRR for A350 XWB OE fitment.
2010
Awarded 2009 Supplier of the Year by Boeing.
2011
Awarded 2010 Supplier of the Year by Boeing for two consecutive years.
2013
Receives 2012 Gold Boeing Performance Excellence Award.
2014
Awarded OE supplier for B787-10
2015
Awarded OE tire supplier for Embraer E175E2.
2016
Announced plans to construct two new plants for manufacturing new tires and retreading in Thailand.
2019
Obtained Boeing Certificates for 737MAX-9 and 777-9
2020
Bridgestone Specialty Tire Manufacturing (Thailand) Co., Ltd. started mass production of new tires, and Bridgestone Aircraft Tire Manufacturing (Thailand) Co., Ltd. started retreading.
