The Global Sustainability Committee (GSC) that reports to the Global Executive Committee (Global EXCO), the Bridgestone Group’s highest-level committee overseeing its business strategy and execution, is responsible for organizing the Group’s Sustainability Framework and holistically leading the design and implementation of sustainability initiatives. The Global Sustainability Business Committee (GSBC) promotes the establishment and execution of global strategy with a focus on recycle business toward the realization of the Group’s Circular Economy aspirations. Both committees include working groups of cross-functional, cross-regional leaders from appropriate functions, working on each of the key themes and reporting on its progress and plans to the committees at least quarterly. The GSC, in particular, regularly reviews the Group’s focus items while reporting and proposing the progress of initiatives and responses to emerging challenges to the Global EXCO and the Board of Directors. In addition, the GSC is continually strengthening its initiatives through the plan-do-check-action (PDCA) cycle by developing the targets, KPIs and metrics to track progress.

Other committees that report sustainability issues to the Global EXCO include the Global Quality Management Committee (GQMC) that strengthens global governance around the deployment of its quality mission and initiatives in each SBU, and the Global Management Risk Committee (GMRC). The Group's sustainability initiatives are reported to the Board of Directors.
